Job summary

SAFEbuilt is seeking a Fire Inspector / Plans Examiner to join our Greater Dallas/Fort Worth team. You will inspect and review plans for fire code compliance across residential, commercial, and industrial properties, and participate in disaster readiness activities.

Requirements include TCFP Fire Plans Examiner and Fire Inspector II, with 5+ years in fire prevention and plan review, plus a Texas driver’s license. We offer comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• TCFP Fire Plans Examiner and Fire Inspector II required.
• TCFP Fire Marshal a plus.
• NFPA certifications a plus.
• ICC certifications a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in fire prevention, inspection, and plan review.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Texas driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform fire safety inspections and plan reviews to ensure code compliance.
• Write citations or stop-work orders as needed and testify in court if required.
• Perform fire clearance inspections for new business licenses.
• Participate in disaster preparedness programs.
• Review plans for compliance with fire and building codes including, but not limited to, checking underground fire mains, fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems, hazardous materials storage and architectural/engineering details.
• Research fire legislation and code changes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
