The City of Fort Worth is seeking a Plans Examiner in the Development Services Department to review and process building applications for conformance to codes and laws. The division handles commercial and residential plans, including building, zoning, electrical, plumbing and mechanical areas, with a team of eight staff.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate’s degree and two years of related field experience, plus certification eligibility in the relevant code disciplines.

Qualificações

• Associate's degree is required.
• Two years of city building inspection or related field experience is required.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a certificate from a national model code organization in the relevant discipline.

Responsabilidades

• Interpreting regulations, laws and ordinances for plans examination within departmental guidelines.
• Providing drawings, applications, calculations and codes assistance to contractors, architects, engineers and the public.
• Assisting to solve issues on plans for permits with innovative ideas.
• Revises or amends original plans as necessary and communicates with owner or contact person.
• Enters all plans examination data into the computer system and tracks permit status.
