SAFEbuilt, Inc. is seeking a Fire Inspector to perform comprehensive fire and life safety inspections across Texas, including large-scale commercial projects. The role requires interpreting fire and building codes, coordinating with contractors and authorities, and producing detailed inspection reports.

Candidates should have a TCFP Fire Inspector II certification, 5+ years of field inspection experience, and the ability to travel up to 75% statewide. A High School diploma is required.

Formación

Responsabilidades

Location: Texas – Statewide Travel Required (75%)

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Fire Inspector to join our team of professionals. Responsibilities

• Perform fire and life safety inspections on large-scale commercial construction projects throughout Texas to ensure compliance with applicable fire prevention codes, ordinances, and regulations.
• Conduct inspections of fire protection systems, including fire alarm systems, automatic sprinkler systems, fire suppression systems, underground fire mains, and other life safety components.
• Inspect commercial construction projects at various stages of development to verify compliance with approved plans, applicable fire codes, and NFPA standards.
• Identify and document fire code violations, deficiencies, and potential safety hazards, providing guidance on corrective actions.
• Coordinate with contractors, project managers, developers, and local authorities to resolve fire and life safety compliance issues.
• Interpret and apply applicable fire codes, building codes, and local ordinances during field inspections.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation of inspection findings and corrective actions.
• Stay current on changes to fire prevention codes, NFPA standards, and applicable regulations.
• Travel approximately 75% of the time throughout Texas to support large-scale commercial construction projects.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills

• Extensive knowledge of fire prevention codes, NFPA standards, and applicable state and local fire safety regulations.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction practices, fire protection systems, and life safety requirements.
• Ability to interpret and apply fire codes in the field and provide code-compliant solutions.
• Experience inspecting large-scale commercial construction projects and complex fire protection systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, approved plans, and technical specifications.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with contractors, project managers, governmental entities, and other stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time management, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple inspection assignments.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Texas.

Certifications & Experience

• TCFP Fire Inspector II certification required.
• TCFP Fire Plans Examiner certification preferred.
• TCFP Fire Marshal certification a plus.
• NFPA certifications a plus.
• International Code Council (ICC) certifications a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience performing fire inspections, preferably on large-scale commercial or industrial construction projects.
• Experience inspecting fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, fire suppression systems, and other fire and life safety components.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Possession of a valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
