Job summary

The City of Golden Valley is seeking a Fire Inspector I or Fire Inspector II to join the Fire Department. The selected applicant will administer and enforce adopted state and city codes under the supervision of the Assistant Chief of Prevention, and may perform Firefighter duties while on shift.

The Fire Inspector II track adds leadership of inspections, investigation responsibilities, and potential supervision of Paid on-Call Firefighters; assignment depends on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Administer and enforce adopted state and city codes under supervision of the Assistant Chief of Prevention.
• Lead fire investigations and provide direction to Paid on-Call Firefighters during inspections and on the fire grounds.
