Job summary

The City of Chaska is seeking a Firefighter/Inspector to perform rental inspections and respond to emergency calls in our community. You will enforce local codes on rental properties and work to prevent fires through safety education.

This role supports plan reviews, inspections, and investigations, and may involve coordinating with the Fire Marshal on construction reviews. Minnesota certifications and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid, unrestricted Minnesota driver’s license.
• Minnesota State Certification of Firefighter I, Hazmat Ops, and Firefighter II by the MFSCB.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls for fire, medical, rescue, or other service.
• Attend required trainings and maintain certifications.
• Conduct inspections of rental properties and commercial buildings for safety and code compliance.
• Lead or assist with fire investigations as assigned.
