Job summary

Boston Fire in Tewksbury, MA is seeking a Fire Extinguisher/Kitchen Suppression System Technician to install, inspect, and service fire extinguishers and suppression systems (Kitchen Hoods). A valid state license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; certifications or training on fire extinguishers and suppression systems preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude with experience in hand/power tools.
• Ability to read electrical schematic diagrams and NFPA standards.
• Proven experience as a Fire Technician preferred; valid driver's license required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently.
• Ability to pass drug and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform annual maintenance/inspections of fire extinguishers.
• Determine proper type, quantity, and placement of extinguishers based on hazard.
• Exchange or replace extinguishers needing service.
• Install extinguisher cabinets, brackets, and wall hangers.
• Indicate type, size, and location on inspection reports.
• Perform semi-annual and annual inspections of fire suppression, sprinkler, and alarm systems.
• Document findings and deficiencies on reports.
• Communicate non-compliance issues to customers.
• Collaborate with customers, contractors, and team to ensure proper maintenance.
• Provide technical support regarding system operation and troubleshooting.
• Build partnerships to grow the business within the industry.
• Follow safety guidelines and perform other duties as assigned.
