Job summary

Central Oregon Community College is seeking a Fire Equipment Assistant to support the Fire Science Program. The role involves maintaining the Fire Room, preparing instructional tools, and assisting the Fire Program Director in office and classroom duties.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, hands-on knowledge of fire tools and equipment, and strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of fire tools and equipment used in Fire Science.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work with Fire Program Director, staff, and faculty and to interface with the public.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Fire Room in good order (tools cleaned and put away).
• Prepare instructional equipment and tools for instructional purposes.
• Maintain and repair fire equipment as instructed.
• Report safety concerns to Fire Director immediately.
• Secure doors when not in use and stay flexible with tasks and hours.
• Transport equipment between campuses/buildings and assist with routine duties.
