Job summary

Colorado Mountain College seeks a Fire Science Technician to work with faculty in classroom and live-fire lab settings. This part-time role (up to 28 hours/week) supports student learning and safety under supervision of the Fire Science Technology Assistant Dean and instructors.

Ideal candidates hold Firefighter I/II and HazMat certifications, EMT-B/ BLS, with 400 hours as Firefighter I preferred and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control certifications listed in the qualifications.
Current certifications: EMT-Basic and BLS for Healthcare Provider.
Experience may substitute for degree; 400 hours as Firefighter I with a fire district or as a volunteer.

Responsibilities

Don PPE and perform donning/doffing procedures.
Respond on apparatus and maintain scene safety.
Demonstrate firefighting operations including ladders, entry, and ventilation tasks.
Perform search and rescue and ventilation activities.
Overhaul, salvage, extinguishers, and scene lighting.
Maintain equipment, hoses, and safety checks.
