Job summary

Henderson Engineers seeks a Fire Engineering Manager in the Community/Health sector to lead a team of engineers and designers, develop talent, and ensure technical excellence. The role combines technical leadership with people management, emphasizing mentoring and career development within a collaborative, high-performance culture.

The position requires a PE license and strong knowledge of building systems, codes, and design guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or architectural engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive experience.
• Professional Engineering license preferred.
• Familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam and industry codes.

Responsibilities

• Leads, mentors and develops a team of engineers and designers within the sector.
• Acts as hiring manager and career coach, conducting interviews and feedback.
• Manages staff assignments, project scopes and progress tracking.
• Provides direct coaching and sets individual development goals.
• Oversees design quality and adherence to Henderson's guidelines and standards.
• Communicates with clients to develop requirements and ensure project alignment.
• Supports project coordination, scheduling, and resource management.
• Reviews drawings and coordinates with project teams across disciplines.
