Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Science, EMS Technology, or related field required.
• Minimum ten years in a recognized career fire department.
• Two years as Captain with Fayette County Fire & Emergency Services or equivalent.
• Possession of Georgia driver's license and relevant NFPA/position requirements.

Responsibilities

• Directs the activities of the assigned shift; conducts annual employee evaluations; plans and participates in training activities.
• Investigates employee injuries and accidents occurring on the assigned shift.
• Ensures shift staffing meets minimum requirements; handles leave requests and overtime as needed.
• Confirms correct deployment of apparatus and maintains adequate coverage.
• Organizes, schedules, and assigns duties for shift personnel.
• Responds to incidents, establishes command, and provides information to the public and media.
