Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Safety, Fire Science, Emergency Management, Public Administration, Allied or Public Health Administration or related field plus three years' experience in Emergency Management or related fields with at least two years in a supervisory role.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license and FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800 credentials.
• Must obtain FEMA Professional Development Series within six months of employment.
• Must obtain Georgia Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) within 30 months of employment.
• Preferred certifications include ICs roles and Certified Emergency Manager (CEM).

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily operations in Operations, Planning, Logistics or Finance/Administration within the Department of Emergency Management.
• Supervise staff, manage schedules, timesheets, performance appraisals and employee relations.
• Administer County, State and Federally mandated programs and develop emergency plans.
• Coordinate MACC/EOC readiness and ensure interagency collaboration during activations.
• Oversee budgets, grants, reports and major projects; supervise training and exercises using HSEEP; provide liaison with internal and external partners.
