Job summary

911 Emergency Communications in Mooresboro, NC is seeking Fire Dispatchers to coordinate responses for fires, rescues, and hazardous conditions. You will receive incident details, alert resources, and maintain radio communication with crews, following established plans and directions from authorized personnel.

Positions may require overnight, weekend, holiday, and overtime coverage. A high school diploma is commonly required; dispatch certifications or EMS training may be needed for certain

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED commonly required.
• Fire dispatch certification or EMS training may be required for certain assignments.

Responsibilities

• Receive and document reports of fires, rescues, alarms, and hazardous conditions
• Verify incident locations, access information, and reported risks
• Alert stations and dispatch apparatus using approved response assignments
• Monitor radio channels, unit availability, and incident status
• Relay information about occupants, hazards, and changing conditions
• Process requests for additional resources through established procedures
• Coordinate mutual-aid communications when assigned
• Record dispatch times, unit movements, and significant incident updates

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Fire dispatch certification / EMS training (may be required)
