Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an installer to install, program, configure, commission and service Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems at customer sites. The role requires reading blueprints, coordinating with trades, and delivering projects on schedule.

Candidates should have 3+ years in low voltage electrical systems, be able to interpret manuals, and meet licensing and background checks. Some overnight travel may be required, with safety and customer service emphasized.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
• Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
• Able to obtain and retain any licenses required by National, State and local codes.
• Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.
• Overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, configure, commission and service Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems at customer sites.
• Execute projects on time and within allocated installation hours.
• Coordinate installation activities with trades to optimize time; resolve discrepancies.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and manuals; attend site meetings.
• Instruct and train customers on operation of equipment/systems; conduct simulations.
• Complete project documentation in a timely manner.
• Adhere to OSHA and safety policies; participate in on-call rotation.
