Job summary

The City of Santa Fe Springs is seeking a Fire Captain to lead and manage fire operations during assigned shifts. This role encompasses emergency response, training of personnel, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities include supervising fire suppression, emergency medical responses, and conducting fire inspections. A valid California driver’s license and EMT certification are required. The position aims to maintain the highest standards of public safety and service within the community.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time experience as a Fire Lieutenant or equivalent supervisory fire service experience.
• Valid California driver’s license with appropriate firefighter endorsement.
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical activities.
• Supervise station personnel and operational readiness.
• Conduct fire inspections and public education on fire prevention.
