Job summary

The City of Montclair Fire Department is seeking a qualified Firefighter/Driver-Operator to respond to emergency scenes, operate pumps and aerial devices, and support fire prevention activities. The role requires maintaining equipment, providing EMS aid, and training colleagues as needed.

Candidates must meet licensing requirements, have a high school diploma or GED, and possess relevant certifications including EMT and Firefighter endorsements.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED is required.
• At least two years of paid full-time experience as a Firefighter with a public agency.
• Valid California Driver License with Firefighter endorsement.
• EMT Certificate or Paramedic License required.
• CPR/BLS certificate required.
• Driver Operator 1A and 1B certificates.
• Complete EVOC course by end of probation.

Responsibilities

• Drive assigned fire apparatus or other equipment to emergencies and scenes.
• Operate pumps and aerial devices; assist in fire suppression and emergency mitigation.
• Inspect, service, and maintain fire apparatus and equipment; perform minor repairs.
