State of Alaska seeks a Building Plans Examiner 2 to review complex construction plans for compliance with adopted codes and standards. The role involves establishing occupancy, fire resistance and exit requirements, and verifying alarms and extinguishing systems across a range of projects from schools to hospitals.

You will advise the State Fire Marshal on technical interpretations, participate in rulemaking, and help refine procedures to improve plan review efficiency.

Competenze

• Must review complex plans for compliance with International Building, Fire, Mechanical, and Fuel Gas Codes.
• Examine occupancy, fire resistance, exit requirements, and fire alarm/extinguishing systems.
• Assist in drafting regulations, procedures and codes affecting plan reviews and inspections.
