Job summary

City of Baltimore is seeking a Fire Plans Reviewer to review plans for compliance with Fire and Building codes. You will inspect residences, new construction, rehabilitation projects, and commercial/industrial establishments to enforce Federal, State, and City laws. The role involves no supervisory duties and requires reporting under supervision.

Field site exposure to heat and weather is possible. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, three years of experience in reviewing

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Baltimore City Fire Prevention Code and applicable Federal and State Laws.
• Knowledge of fire protection systems, design and installation.
• Knowledge of fire and life safety codes and workmanship standards.
• Knowledge of engineering principles as applied to construction.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
• Ability to prepare concise and accurate explanations of ordinances and rulings.
• Ability to gather information and prepare clear reports from data.
