Job summary

The State of Alaska, Department of Public Safety, Division of Fire and Life Safety, is seeking a Building Plans Examiner 2 in Anchorage to process and verify Plan Review applications, handle the Bureau's fiscal transactions, and maintain records for all plan reviews conducted. The role also involves organizing travel and assisting the public with plan review and code information.

After probation, there may be an opportunity for telework.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend statutes, regulations, and procedures and apply them to specific cases.
• Strong data handling and compilation skills for plan review records.
• Excellent organizational skills to prioritize workload and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Process and ensure accuracy of Plan Review applications.
• Process fiscal transactions for the Bureau.
• Maintain building records for all plan reviews conducted by the Bureau.
• Organize both in-state and out-of-state travel via the State Travel Office.
• Assist the public with plan review and code information, and process public information requests.
