We are seeking a skilledFire Alarm Technicianto join our Worcester, MA, team. The technician will install, program, inspect, and service fire alarm systems across a variety of commercial, institutional, and industrial settings. In this role, you will ensure that every system meets applicable codes and standards while delivering the responsive, customer-first service that defines Cogswell Sprinkler.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and program fire alarm systems, including panels, sensors, and related components.
  • Perform routine maintenance and testing of fire alarm systems to ensure proper operation.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of fire alarm systems to identify and resolve any issues or potential problems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faulty fire alarm systems and components.
  • Ensure all fire alarm systems meet relevant codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Provide excellent service to customers, answering any questions and addressing concerns about fire safety.
  • Respond to emergency service requests in a timely and efficient manner.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid Fire Alarm Technician license as required by the state of Massachusetts.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training in fire alarm systems is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of fire alarm systems and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools used in the trade.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
  • May work in various environments, including offices, schools, hotels, and industrial sites.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
  • Exposure to the elements when working outdoors and to dust and noise in construction and industrial settings.

The wage for this role is$25 to $40 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
