Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician in San Antonio, TX. The role focuses on programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and documenting complex fire alarm projects, collaborating with sales, engineering, and field teams to deliver installations that meet AHJ expectations.

The position requires 2–5 years of relevant experience, NICET I, OSHA 10, and the ability to read design drawings. A valid license and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of experience in a technician role within the fire-life safety industry.
• Ability to program and commission mid-range fire alarm systems independently.
• NICET I certification and OSHA 10 preferred.
• Ability to read fire system design drawings.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel occasionally overnight.

Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales for successful project execution.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs.
• Program and commission complex fire alarm systems to achieve customer and AHJ acceptance.
• Produce commissioning and inspection reports per NFPA.
• Troubleshoot issues and resolve them effectively.
• Manage job scheduling and progress with emphasis on quality.
