Job summary

Alutiiq Logistics and Maintenance Services, LLC is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm System Mechanic to install, maintain, repair, and inspect fire alarm systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and NFPA standards. The role requires independent work, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with a team.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, component testing, wiring installation, and timely completion of service orders.

Qualifications

• Must have strong understanding of fire alarm systems and components.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, and inspection of fire alarm systems.
• Test and replace faulty components such as sensors, alarms, and wiring.
• Inspect equipment visually and replace defective components.
• Check suppression system storage containers and recharge or replace as needed.
• Ensure proper installation of wiring, detectors, control panels, and other components.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and repair or replace parts to restore functionality.
• Test initiating and signal circuits, detectors, and transmitters.
• Complete service orders promptly to restore safety and operability.
• Respond to service orders within one hour and continue work until emergent conditions are addressed.
• Maintain records of installations, maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
