Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in Huntington Beach, CA, seeks a Fire Detection Systems Technician 3 to install, program, configure, commission, and service fire alarm and fire suppression systems at customer sites.

This role requires 3+ years in low voltage electrical systems, reading blueprints, and the ability to travel overnight. You will coordinate with project managers, train customers, and support project execution with strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in low voltage electrical systems including Fire/Life Safety, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging.
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Ability to obtain and retain licenses required by national, state, and local codes.
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50-70 lbs.
• Valid driver's license and driving record meeting company requirements.
• Willingness to travel overnight when required.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, configure, commission, and service fire alarm and fire suppression systems at customer sites.
• Execute projects on time and within allocated installation hours.
• Coordinate installation activities with other trades to optimize time and site progress.
• Read and interpret blueprints, submittals, specifications, software and system programs, schematics, and manuals.
• Attend site meetings and support project execution with clear communication.
• Train customers on system operation and respond to questions.
• Provide excellent customer service through consistent communication.
• Complete project documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow OSHA and safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
