Job summary

Encore Fire Protection is seeking a dedicated Fire Alarm Service Technician to inspect, test, program, service, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems across client sites. The role offers autonomy and varied fieldwork, with opportunities for growth in a life-safety focused company.

You will move between sites, diagnose issues in real-time, and communicate clearly with customers, contractors, and internal teams while maintaining stringent safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Electrical license valid under state requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within assigned territory.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC and OSHA regulations.
• Hands-on experience with fire alarm systems from major manufacturers (Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Simplex, Fire-Lite, Gamewell FCI, Honeywell).
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with ability to work through issues methodically.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple service assignments, and prioritize workload.

Responsibilities

• Service, program, test, inspect, and troubleshoot basic and complex fire alarm systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and corrective repairs per NFPA 72 and company standards.
• Identify code deficiencies and provide clear recommendations for improvements.
• Respond to emergency calls, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with contractors, building personnel, and internal teams for timely service delivery.
• Document service activities with findings, work performed, and parts used.
• Maintain clear communication with customers and office staff about status and next steps.
• Uphold Encore’s safety, quality, and customer satisfaction on every job site.
