Salary: $36.50-$45/hr. BOE-Licensing

Vulcan Fire is accepting applications for our Golden, Colorado office. Positions are Monday through Friday, with rotations in our on-call schedule. No remote work or relocation available.

Position Summary:

Ideal candidates will have solid experience in fire alarm service, NICET II or above, Denver Fire Installer Card, and backflow certification. The role requires strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, a desire to complete assignments, and a capacity for continual learning. This is a full-time, performance-based position with opportunities to grow into a senior role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding and executing instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Reading and interpreting work orders and manuals.
  • Effective communication with customers and coworkers.
  • Using hand tools and small power tools.
  • Assisting senior technicians with inspection and testing of alarm systems and extinguishers per NFPA standards.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping on job sites.
  • Performing basic mathematical calculations.
  • Lifting and carrying equipment and tools (up to 80 lbs).
  • Participating in weekly safety trainings.
  • Using personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Learning all phases of construction, building codes, and NFPA standards.
  • Wearing assigned uniforms and dressing professionally.
  • Maintaining good relationships with vendors, customers, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Using time management tools via laptop and texting systems.
  • Using cell phones to communicate with Central Station and check signals.
  • Reading and interpreting prints and drawings.
  • Inspecting and testing alarm systems and extinguishers per NFPA 72 & 10 standards.
  • Utilizing Honeywell CLSS reports software.
  • Processing technician paperwork and parts for stock transfers.
  • Keeping fleet vehicles clean, organized, and maintained.
  • Following company vehicle policies and maintaining safe driving habits.
  • Preparing accurate work orders and reports.
  • Using office equipment, computers, and cell phones.

Required Skills and Education:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work while being trained on the job.
  • Completing all apprentice applications.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer literacy and multitasking ability.
  • Sound logical reasoning.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Compliance with federal and state codes.
  • NICET II Certification.
  • Denver Fire Alarm Installer Card.
  • Backflow Certification.
  • Additional licenses are a plus.
  • Passing a 10-panel drug test and criminal background check.
