Job summary

Regional Fire Protection, part of the Guardian Fire Services family, seeks a Fire Alarm Service Sales Estimator in Williamsport, MD. The role focuses on growing the customer base, preparing quotes, and coordinating with managers, coordinators, and vendors to deliver competitive pricing.

The ideal candidate demonstrates experience in fire alarm estimating, strong communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, family-oriented company environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver's License.
• 2+ years of experience as technician, salesperson or estimator in fire alarm industry.
• Familiarity with NFPA and NEC Code.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and estimating software.
• Ability to create basic fire alarm layouts and perform material take-offs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with ability to use independent judgement.
• Strong organizational and time management skills; meet deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Grow the customer base by following up on leads with the Manager and Coordinator.
• Capture discrepancy work from inspection reports and provide quotes to customers.
• Provide contract cost after first-pass design, including material list and fees.
• Work with vendors to secure best pricing.
• Establish sell price with Manager.
• Provide finished quote or bid to Manager for approval.
• Coordinate timelines for complex contracts with customer timelines.
• Provide required documentation to Field Supervisor after signed contract.
• Send awarded contracts to Design and modify material list before giving to Coordinator.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Technician, Salesperson or estimating in the fire alarm industry
• Familiarity with and ability to read, interpret, and apply NFPA and NEC Code
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and estimating software
• Ability to create basic fire alarm layouts and perform material take-offs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter with ability to use independent judgement
• Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to deliver high-quality results by deadlines
• Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently
• Able to walk construction sites and heavy industrial sites including climbing stairs and ladders
• Desire to learn estimating strategies and techniques and how they would support corporate objectives

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Grow the customer base by working with the Manager and Coordinator to follow up on leads and strengthen relationships with current customers.
• Work with the Coordinator to capture discrepancy work from inspection reports and provide quotes to customers.
• Provide contract cost after the first-pass design, including the material list, other fees, and any risk assessment.
• Work with vendors to secure the best pricing.
• Work with the Manager to establish the sell price.
• Provide the finished quote or bid to the Manager for approval.
• Consult with the Coordinator and Manager to establish timelines for complex contracts when the customer has the required timeline.
• Provide required documentation to assigned Field Supervisor after receipt of the signed contract.
• Send the contracts awarded to Design and modify the material list before providing it to the Coordinator.
