Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Spokane, WA is seeking an experienced technician to independently install fire alarm and low voltage systems per plans and codes. You will interpret blueprints, perform testing, troubleshoot, and maintain documentation while traveling to job sites as required.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3+ years in fire and life safety, and a clean driving record. WA 06 and ID Limited Energy are required; NICET Level I or above is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety.
• Ability to work independently on standard installation jobs.
• WA 06 and ID Limited Energy required.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Clean driving record and active driver’s license if driving is required.

Responsibilities

• Independently install fire alarm systems, security systems, and other low voltage systems in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Complete standard installation projects without direct supervision.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Perform system testing and basic troubleshooting.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete installations.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies.
• Coordinate with team members, contractors, and project stakeholders as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
• Train and support entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
