Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Alarm Install Technician in Michigan to independently install fire alarm systems, follow plans and codes, and perform testing and troubleshooting. You will travel to job sites, interpret blueprints, and maintain quality documentation.

Strong safety awareness and ability to work with diverse teams are essential. The role requires a high school diploma, 3+ years in the industry, and a valid driver’s license; NICET I+ is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

• Independently install fire alarm systems in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Complete standard installation projects without direct supervision.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Perform system testing and basic troubleshooting.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Coordinate with team members, contractors, and project stakeholders as needed.
