Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Hartford, CT is seeking a Fire Alarm & Security Systems Project Manager to lead multi-site fire alarm, life-safety and security projects for critical facilities in the Hartford area.

The role requires coordinating schedules, procurement, subcontractors, and billing while ensuring safety, compliance with NFPA codes, and timely project completion. This is a full-time, on-site position located at Cromwell, CT with a competitive salary.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience in the commercial Fire Alarm/Life Safety, Security Systems, or related construction industry.
  • Knowledge of local and national (NFPA) Fire Alarm codes and regulations; ability to read drawings and specifications and electrical, network, and control wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; eligible for Siemens' fleet vehicle program.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
  • Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in the commercial Fire Alarm/Life Safety & Security Systems industry.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate project specifications, drawings, and related documents to understand project intent; establish comprehensive project schedules with the team.
  • Oversee procurement of supplies and materials; participate in project cost reviews for financial efficiency.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in contracting subcontractors and coordinating their activities with safety and project scope.
  • Conduct orientations for project technicians; provide scope of work, drawings, project contacts, and diagrams.
  • Diligently track resources and progress; document events impacting schedule and scope; pursue change orders.
  • Manage project billing coordination with accounting; schedule commissioning resources; ensure timely close-out documentation.

Project Managers coordinateand deliver multiple, simultaneousfire alarm/lifesafety and security systems projects of various complexities, whichcontributestocreatingsafer environments in critical institutions such as hospitals, universities, and industrial facilities. As a Project Manager, y our fiscal and managerial oversight across all project facets ensures client satisfaction, effective resource allocation, and safe,timelycompletion of projects.

As a Project Manager, you will:

  • Evaluate project specifications, drawings, and related documents to understand project intentions,establishingcomprehensive project schedules in coordination with the team whileidentifyingcrucial installation timelines
  • Oversee the procurement of supplies and materialsrequiredfor project completion, and activelyparticipatein project cost reviews to ensure financial efficiency
  • Assist the Operations Manager in contracting subcontractors, coordinating their activities to align with the project scope, schedules, and fiscal requirements while ensuring adherence to safety regulations
  • Conduct orientations for project technicians,providingall necessary project documentation such as scope of work, technical drawings, project contacts, and application-engineered diagrams
  • Diligently track project resources and progress, documenting any eventsimpactingthe schedule, scope, and overall efficiency;identifyand pursue opportunities for project-specific change orders
  • Manage project-specific billing coordination with theaccountingteam and Operations Manager, schedule commissioning resources,expeditethe return of mark-ups for as-built development, and ensuretimelycompletion of project-specific close-out documentation
