Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Project Designer to design, engineer and document installed physical security and life safety solutions with moderate to high complexity. You will collaborate with engineers, AHJs, vendors and clients to ensure solutions meet requirements and project schedules.

Qualifications

• College degree, trade school or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years engineering, field service or project management.
• AutoCAD experience.
• NICET Level III.
• APS for Stamping Plans.
• Experience in electronic, fire alarm & life safety, building automation, and/or healthcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer and document installed physical security and life safety solutions with moderate to higher levels of complexity according to project requirements.
• Create engineered drawings (AutoCAD, etc.) and prepare record drawings and O&M manuals.
• Coordinate with engineers, AHJ, owners, and vendors; ensure code compliance and adherence to Convergint standards.
• Review scope and product specifications; participate in internal design review meetings and project turnover.
• Prepare submittal packages per Convergint standards and support sales during project phases.
