Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Fire Alarm Install Technician in Pennsylvania to independently install and program fire alarm systems, adhering to plans, codes, and company standards. You will interpret blueprints, perform testing, document work, and support junior technicians while traveling to various job sites as required.

Qualifications

• Fire Alarm Programming experience is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on standard installation jobs.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, installation practices, and applicable codes.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

• Program fire alarms from scratch.
• Independently install fire alarm systems in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Complete standard installation projects without direct supervision.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Perform system testing and basic troubleshooting.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete installations.
• Coordinate with team members, contractors, and project stakeholders as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
• Train and support entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site.
• Travel to job sites as required.
