Job summary

MSS Fire and Security, LLC is seeking a Service Technician - Fire in North Carolina to perform inspections, testing, servicing, installation, and preventive maintenance of life safety product lines, including fire detection and CCTV systems. The role involves hands-on troubleshooting, reading blueprints, using a laptop for documentation, and occasional travel within NC/SC.

A high school diploma is preferred and NICET certification is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in commercial/industrial fire alarm systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word documents as they relate to inspection reporting.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
• Read and interpret technical and parts manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Must be willing to travel within NC/SC for day trips and extended hours as needed.
• Possess or obtain knowledge of NFPA, state and local fire codes; NICET certification preferred.
• Program systems via laptop using equations and troubleshooting steps.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, installation, and preventive maintenance of life safety product lines.
• Troubleshoot system problems and resolve them via equipment installation or software changes.
• Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.
• Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documentation via laptop.
• Maintain customer satisfaction for continual company growth.
• Complete assigned tasks on time with little supervision.
• Support emergency service call-outs on a rotational basis.
• Other duties as assigned by the Company.
