Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Alarm and Life Safety Project Manager to deliver reliable fire alarm and life-safety solutions for automotive and industrial facilities.

You will manage multiple concurrent projects from design through installation, testing and turnover, coordinating with internal teams, electrical contractors, inspectors, and customers to ensure scope, code compliance, and client requirements are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple sites in different states.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Ability to work on-site in commercial, automotive, and industrial facilities.
• Willingness to obtain NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level 1 certification within 12–18 months.
• Working knowledge of fire alarm systems, low-voltage wiring, and code-compliant field practices.
• Strong communication, documentation, and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, inspect, and program fire alarm systems, including panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, and low-voltage wiring.
• Support the technical management of multiple concurrent fire alarm projects at automotive and industrial customer sites.
• Program, commission, and troubleshoot fire alarm networks and coordinate integration with internal systems.
• Interface with AHJ to support permits, approvals, and inspections.
• Troubleshoot system faults and verify NFPA 72 and local amendments.
• Document test results and turnover documentation for each project.
