Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Alarm and Life Safety Project Manager to deliver reliable fire alarm and life-safety solutions for corporate facilities. You will manage multiple concurrent projects, coordinating with internal teams, electrical contractors, inspectors, and customers to ensure scope, materials, code compliance, and client requirements are met from design through turnover.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, documentation, and coordination skills.
• Willingness to obtain NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level 1 certification within 12–18 months.
• Ability to travel to multiple sites in different states.
• Working knowledge of fire alarm systems and NFPA 72.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, inspect, and program fire alarm systems and associated devices.
• Coordinate with project managers, electrical contractors, inspectors, and customers.
• Program, commission, and troubleshoot fire alarm networks and integrate with internal systems.
• Interface with AHJ for permits, approvals, and inspections.
• Troubleshoot faults and verify NFPA 72 and local amendments.
• Maintain detailed project logs and turnover documentation.
• Coordinate travel for out-of-town projects and manage on-site staffing.
• Lead project reviews to ensure quality and schedule control.
• Communicate with upper management to optimize output and planning.
• Work with contractors to align with design and specifications.
• Document test results and site activities for quality and compliance.
