Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring for an installation assistant to support the installation of electronic systems and fire alarm/security product lines. You will observe and assist the responsible person, following instructions and safety protocols.

You will help with start-up, testing, reading blueprints, and moving equipment, while maintaining a clean, safe workspace and complying with daily paperwork requirements.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Fire Alarm and/or Security System experience.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams and specifications.
• Drug screen and background check clearance.
• Capable of physical labor carrying 50–70 lbs.
• Able to work in ladders, scaffolding and high lift up to 40 feet.
• Strong customer service skills; good organizational skills and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of electronic systems from start-up to testing.
• Follow verbal and written instructions and study blueprints.
• Carry and move equipment up to 50–70 lbs.
• Work on ladders, scaffolding and high lift up to 40 feet.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and dispose of trash.
• Submit required paperwork daily.
• May work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer installation requirements.
• Perform other duties as requested.
