Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a Fire Installer III to install, program, troubleshoot, and service fire alarm systems at customer sites. You will focus on networked fire alarm systems, with panel repair, device replacement, and low-voltage test work.

You will read blueprints and manuals, supervise installation quality, and handle on-site safety, scheduling, and documentation. Overnight travel may be required; NICET is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of documented experience in low-voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety Systems.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Experience with hand tools, test equipment, multi-meter usage, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
• Basic understanding of network concepts and architectures.
• Ability to perform physical labor up to 50-70 lbs.
• Willingness to travel overnight.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service fire alarm systems.
• Handle panel repair, device replacement, and low-voltage troubleshooting.
• Support programming of fire alarm, security, and access control panels.
• Respond to service calls promptly and complete repairs.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and manuals to ensure job accuracy.
• Supervise and inspect installations to meet specs.
