Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Installer I to install, program, troubleshoot, and service fire alarm systems at customer sites. The role emphasizes networked fire alarm systems, with panel repair, device replacement, and low-voltage testing as core duties.

You will read blueprints and manuals, supervise installation activities, and ensure safety and quality on every call. A valid driver’s license and occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of documented experience in low-voltage electrical systems.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Experience with hand tools, test equipment, multi-meter usage, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
• Valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service fire alarm systems and related building system products.
• Handle panel repair and reprogramming, device replacement and repair, low-voltage circuit troubleshooting, and system testing.
• Support the programming of fire alarm, security, and access control system panels, focusing on networked fire alarm systems.
• Respond to customer service calls promptly and complete troubleshooting and repair work as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, software/system programs, and manuals.
• Supervise and inspect equipment installation to ensure contract specs are met.
• Organize resources and information to complete tasks efficiently.
• Complete required certification courses and document activities on time.
