Job summary

Wachter, Inc. is hiring experienced Fire Alarm/Intrusion Installation Technicians to install, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm systems across commercial locations nationwide. Candidates should have NFPA knowledge, blueprints reading skills, and the ability to travel extensively.

Qualifications

• Proven field installation experience in security environments (fire alarm/intrusion).
• Current valid state Life Safety license or Physical Security license.
• NFPA 70/72 knowledge and code compliance.
• Experience reading blueprints/site maps.
• Able to work at heights 20–60 ft using lifts.
• Travel 2–6 weeks at a time; flexible shifts including nights/on-call.
• Valid driver's license with clean record (no DUI/DWI last 3 years).
• Proficient with smartphones, email, spreadsheets, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm systems across commercial sites.
• Run low-voltage cabling; drill concrete walls and run conduits as needed.
• Install cable supports (j-hooks, racks, innerduct).
• Test systems to ensure operability of cables and devices.
• Troubleshoot cable networks and fire alarm panels.
• Ensure installations meet NFPA 70/72 and safety requirements.
• Collaborate on pre-install design and planning; maintain records.
