Job summary

Midwest Alarm Services is seeking a field technician to service, test and repair electronic life safety systems in commercial environments. You will perform fire protection inspections and preventive maintenance and communicate effectively with clients to ensure reliable operations.

You must obtain required licenses, maintain a valid driver’s license, and work toward NICET certification while adhering to fire and electrical codes. A company vehicle is provided along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain a specified license to perform work in the security industry per state rules and regulations.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Obtain NICET level certification within a prescribed time frame.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in inspections and fire alarm systems is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of fire and electrical codes for safe inspections.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals; write routine reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform fire protection inspections and preventive maintenance on client fire alarm systems.
• Communicate technical information and support to clients clearly.
• Complete and submit required task-related documentation promptly.
• Train junior inspectors on maintaining a structured inspection schedule.
• Interact professionally with customers, vendors, and team members regardless of background.
• Accept additional duties or special projects as assigned by management.
• Carry out other duties as needed and pertinent to the role.
