Job summary

CEMCO Systems, based in Charlotte, NC, seeks an experienced Fire Alarm Inspector to inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA standards and manufacturer requirements. This hands-on role emphasizes quality work and protecting customers and their properties.

You will inspect components, test panels and devices, interpret blueprints, and document findings. A high school diploma and 2–4 years of related experience are required, with NICET Level II/III preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–4 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• NICET Level II or III preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and inspection practices.
• Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems and components according to NFPA standards, local codes, and manufacturer requirements.
• Test alarm panels, initiating devices, detectors, pull stations, and notification appliances.
• Verify proper operation of audible and strobe devices and notification circuits.
• Identify and document system deficiencies, repair needs, and recommendations.
• Communicate findings with customers and service teams.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Complete accurate inspection reports using company reporting systems.
• Maintain tools, testing equipment, and company vehicle in safe, working condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
