Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Ogden, UT is seeking a Fire Alarm Inspector to conduct building fire alarm inspections, test devices, and generate reports. You will help the Lead Inspector and Inspection Manager with data collection and paperwork, ensuring timely, accurate inspections in a team environment.

The ideal candidate will have a college degree or equivalent experience, knowledge of NFPA standards, and be pursuing NICET certification. Strong communication and PC skills are essential.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred; HS diploma acceptable with experience.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards for inspection/testing of fire protection systems.
• Stay current with code requirements and industry changes; obtain NICET certifications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; customer service oriented.
• Must work well in a team environment.
• Fire Alarm experience is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with test equipment (sensitivity testers, multimeters, battery analyzers, sound level meters) and communicating devices.
• Strong networking PC skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Palm handheld systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all inspections are completed on time and accurately.
• Test building Fire alarm control panels and devices; enter test results.
• Download and generate Fire Alarm Inspection Reports after inspections.
• Participate in monthly team meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Assist Lead Inspector/Inspection Manager with data collection and paperwork.
