Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a field inspector to cover West Springfield and the Western Massachusetts area. You will inspect electrical, sprinkler or suppression life-safety systems, perform routine testing and preventative maintenance, and document work using laptops or mobile devices.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 70 lbs, climb ladders, and work flexible shifts including weekends. A high school diploma, valid driver's license, and strong communication skills are essential;

Qualifications

• Installation or service experience in testing and inspecting fire alarm equipment.
• Self-starter that can work with little or no supervision
• Strong organizational skills and ability to learn quickly
• Ability to perform physical labor and lift up to 70 lbs

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect fire alarm systems for existing and new customers.
• Maintain proper documentation for work performed using laptops or mobile devices.
• Work with low voltage wiring and related devices for system operation.
• Complete service acknowledgements with proper coding.
• Follow and maintain a structured inspection schedule.
• Input, retrieve and archive inspection documents.
• Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected.
• Follow safety policies and maintain a clean work area.
