Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Inspector to inspect, test and service fire alarm systems across the West Springfield and Western Massachusetts region. The role requires physical work, reliable transportation and adherence to safety standards.

You will document work using laptops, handle low voltage wiring, and perform minor repairs as needed. A High School Diploma, valid driver's license and NICET I within 1 year are expected.

Qualifications

• Required installation or service experience in testing and inspecting fire alarm equipment.
• Self-starter with ability to work with little supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and a quick learner.
• Capable of performing physical labor.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Ability to work well with others.
• NICET I within 1 year of employment.
• Basic computer skills – Excel, Word, Outlook, and smartphone usage.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect fire alarm systems for existing and new customers.
• Maintain proper documentation for work performed using provided tools.
• Work with low voltage wiring and related devices.
• Complete service acknowledgements with proper coding via laptops or hard copy.
• Follow a structured inspection schedule and input data via mobile device.
• Carry and move equipment and tools up to 70 lbs.
• Perform minor repairs and programming changes on inspected systems.
• Adhere to safety policies and maintain a clean work area.
• Occasionally work in challenging positions such as ladders or scaffolding.
