Tech Electronics seeks a Fire Alarm Estimating & Engineering Manager to lead the local engineering team while actively contributing to technical work. This hands-on role emphasizes mentoring engineers, estimating accuracy, and collaboration with sales and operations on successful projects.

The ideal candidate combines strong estimating expertise with proven leadership in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and a track record of delivering compliant, high-quality designs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in fire alarm estimating, engineering, or system design.
• Experience leading or supervising technical teams.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and NFPA 72 / IBC codes.
• Experience interpreting drawings, specifications and bid documents.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Strong cross-department collaboration and communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating/design software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate fire alarm system estimates for new, renovation, and retrofit projects.
• Review specs, drawings, and bid documents to develop competitive proposals.
• Interpret codes and customer requirements to ensure compliant designs.
• Lead engineering teams, assign workloads, and ensure quality and schedules.
• Collaborate with Sales for value-engineered solutions and profitability.
• Support pre-bid meetings, site visits, and technical consultations.
• Provide guidance during project execution and assist with complex design challenges.
