Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the 2022 NYC Building Code related to fire alarm systems and inspections.
• Experience in fire alarm inspection, design, or building code compliance.
• Ability to review drawings and clearly communicate technical concerns.
• Comfort working on active construction sites and traveling across NYC metro.
• Excellent written and spoken communication, organizational, and client-facing skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Review fire alarm system designs for compliance with building and fire code requirements.
• Conduct field inspections and pre-inspections across the NYC metro area.
• Identify deficiencies, document findings, and develop punch lists for stakeholders.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, project managers, site managers, and FDNY.
• Use the 2022 NYC Building Code to support code-compliant outcomes.
• Communicate inspection results and next steps clearly and timely.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams while managing field and office duties.
• Approximately 60% field-based and 40% office-based; travel regularly.
• Occasional evening site visits may be required.
