Job summary

Shambaugh & Son, L.P. is seeking a Fire Alarm Designer to manage fire alarm, VESDA, and related systems on industrial and commercial projects.

The designer will coordinate with project teams, prepare 2D and 3D designs using AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks, and support schedules, BOMs, and field coordination to meet tight deadlines. The role requires collaboration with field personnel and project managers, with a focus on high-paced, large construction environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience required.
• Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks.
• Experience in large construction projects preferred.
• Experience in mechanical, electrical, or fire protection design preferred.
• Experience in high paced, large construction projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design fire alarm, VESDA, clean agent, and control systems.
• Assist in communication regarding project status with customers and internal teams.
• Assist design schedules to meet milestones and progress meetings.
• Assist with design, BOM, and scheduling as needed.
• Collaborate with field Superintendents and Project Managers for project needs and progress.
• Operate AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, and Navisworks.
• Complete fire protection 2D designs as needed.
• Other duties assigned.

Shambaugh & Son is seeking a Fire Alarm Designer. In this position you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the work assigned to include fire alarm, VESDA, and special hazard systems and components.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for design of fire alarm, VESDA, clean agent, and control systems.
• Responsible for assisting in all communication regarding the project status with both customer base as well as the internal communications.
• Assist in design schedules to meet the required schedule work in progress meetings and milestones.
• Assist with design, bill of materials, and scheduling as needed.
• Work with field Superintendents and Project Managers for project needs and progress.
• Operate AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, and Navisworks.
• Complete fire protection 2D designs as needed.
• Other duties assigned.

Compensation Range: $65,000 - 90,000

Other Compensation: profit-sharing bonus eligeble
