Job summary

Shambaugh & Son, a leading mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractor, is seeking a Fire Alarm Designer to manage fire alarm, VESDA, and related system design on large construction projects.

You will design, coordinate with field teams, prepare schedules, BOMs, and work with AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, and Navisworks to support project milestones. Regular attendance and extended hours are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks.
• Experience in Fire Alarm design.
• Experience in large construction projects preferred.
• Regular and reliable attendance, including extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for designing fire alarm, VESDA, and control systems.
• Communicate project status with customers and internal teams.
• Develop design schedules to meet milestones and progress reviews.
• Prepare design, bill of materials, and scheduling documentation.

Job Summary

Shambaugh & Son is looking for a Fire Alarm Designer. In this position you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the work assigned to include fire alarm, VESDA, and special hazard systems and components.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting in designing of fire alarm, VESDA, clean agent, and control systems.
• Responsible for assisting in all communication regarding the project status with both customer base as well as the internal communications.
• Assist in design schedules to meet the required schedule work in progress meetings and milestones.
• Assist with design, bill of materials, and scheduling as needed.
• Work with field Superintendents and Project Managers for project needs and progress.
• Operate AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, and Navisworks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks.
• Experience in large construction projects preferred.
• Experience in Fire Alarm design.
• Experience in high paced, large construction projects preferred.
• Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
