Stantec’s Fire Alarm Designer role focuses on performing basic technical duties under supervision and coordinating production within the team. The position requires experience with CAD and Revit and an understanding of fire alarm systems and codes.

Qualifications

• Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years related industry experience required.

Responsibilities

• Develop project deliverables ranging from design documents to technical reports.
• Apply design knowledge within own discipline and ensure accuracy.
• Coordinate tasks with teams across the firm and with external sources.
• Assist discipline lead and senior designers with advanced technical activities.
• Use CAD and Revit to prepare project deliverables.
• Perform or delegate production tasks.
• Survey existing buildings to document fire alarm system conditions.
• Assist in preparing fire alarm construction documents for contractors.
• Review submittals and respond to RFIs.
• Attend punch walks to verify installation against docs and codes.
