Job summary
ClarityPay is seeking a Product Counsel to join its legal and compliance team. This foundational role focuses on regulatory and operational matters, with commercial contracting support, and offers growth into an in-house generalist role within fintech.
The role will advise on consumer and small business lending rules, draft and negotiate contracts, support product development, and collaborate with compliance, business development, and customer service to address regulatory inquiries and risk.
Qualifications
- JD from a top-tier law school; licensed in good standing.
- 7+ years total legal experience with at least 2 years in a law firm.
- Deep experience advising on consumer financial services matters.
- Contract drafting and negotiation experience.
- Strong legal research and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Serve as in-house expert on consumer and small business lending regulations.
- Lead regulatory requirements for new product development and implementation.
- Provide regulatory advice and risk assessments for new financial products.
- Support compliance, customer service, and other teams with inquiries.
- Support or own other legal projects as directed by the Chief Legal & Compliance Officer.
