Job summary

SavvyMoney in Dublin, CA, is seeking an Attorney, Fintech Compliance & Data Privacy to lead data privacy, AI governance, and regulatory compliance initiatives across product, engineering, and executive teams.

The ideal candidate will bring strong law firm or in-house experience, exceptional legal judgment, and the ability to translate evolving privacy and AI regulations into practical business solutions; hybrid work with some travel to the office.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active U.S. bar admission required.
• Approximately 8+ years of legal experience, with law firm and/or in-house exposure.
• Significant experience advising on privacy, data protection, technology transactions, or commercial contracting.
• Strong knowledge of privacy and consumer protection regulations (GLBA, FCRA, CCPA, TCPA, DPPA, COPPA).
• Experience advising on AI governance, ML, or emerging technology compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead privacy, data protection, and AI compliance initiatives across the company.
• Advise on legal implications of AI-enabled products and services.
• Develop and maintain internal privacy and AI governance policies and playbooks.
• Draft and update terms of services and privacy policies.
• Review, draft, and negotiate vendor and technology agreements with privacy focus.
• Provide guidance on consumer privacy laws and regulatory requirements.
• Assess data collection, consent, retention, and usage practices across products.
• Partner with stakeholders to mitigate legal/regulatory risks in emerging tech.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and monitor regulatory developments.
• Collaborate with IT on data security matters and initiatives.
