Job summary

NationsBenefits is seeking a Technical Lead (Platform) to guide a FinTech engineering team in Plantation, FL. You’ll lead Java-based microservices, drive architectural decisions, and ensure secure, scalable fintech applications.

You will mentor engineers, promote DevOps practices, and collaborate with product and business teams to deliver high-performance solutions across cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8–12 years of Java development experience.
• 5+ years of experience mentoring or coaching individual contributors.
• Strong experience with: Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Microservices, RESTful APIs.
• SQL / NoSQL databases; Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Hands-on experience with Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proven ability to design and deploy secure applications within regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers.
• Recruit, onboard, and train engineering talent while promoting best practices.
• Conduct performance reviews, one-on-ones, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Define and execute technical strategy and architecture for scalable, secure FinTech apps.
• Guide engineers through design, code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Lead design, development, and deployment of Java-based microservices (Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST).
• Architect and maintain microservices across Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with Product, Program, and Business Leaders; promote Agile and DevOps.
